The podcast is part of a series ‘GIPSIL Mental Health’ hosted by GIPSIL’s (a consortium of charities) well-being officer Lee Davy. The podcast involved Kanwal in an insightful conversation about working alongside marginal young people whom GIPSIL support and accommodate in Leeds. Kanwal undertook ethnographic research and workshops in order to engage young people to explore research priorities over a period of 8 months.
The podcast reflects on the real-world complexities that come with research on mental health, with young people and community work. From challenges in engagement, delivery to the impact on young people’s lives, this episode sheds light on what it takes to turn research into meaningful change.
GIPSIL works with children, young people, and families in the most disadvantaged communities in Leeds and Wakefield to provide them with the support and resources they need to thrive. Their podcast offers candid conversations and expert insights on mental well-being, resilience, and self-care. Each episode offers practical advice and inspiring stories on navigating life’s challenges.
